Skydiving in India: Places, Prices and a Practical Guide to Your First Jump
Planning skydiving in India starts with three questions: where is a jump actually being offered, are you eligible for that particular operation, and what happens if the weather changes? Answer those before arranging a long journey or choosing a video package.
For an adult first-timer, a tandem skydive is usually the experience to investigate. You are attached to an appropriately qualified instructor and share the parachute system. A course intended to teach independent skydiving is a different commitment, with a different budget and progression.
Search results often list many Indian destinations without a current camp date, responsible operator or bookable session. A place name alone is not enough to build a trip around. This guide therefore starts with current operator listings, dated price examples and the practical checks that make a booking meaningful.
Research basis: Sources were checked on 5 October 2026. Operator listings describe advertised services; this research did not independently audit an operation, certify its safety or confirm availability for your chosen day. The planning examples focus on adults. Published age conditions require particular care, as explained below.

Which type of skydiving in India should a beginner consider?
A tandem skydive lets a first-time participant experience skydiving while attached to an instructor. Independent skydiving requires structured training and demonstrated skills. Choose the product that matches whether you want a single experience or a longer learning programme.
The United States Parachute Association’s first-skydive guide describes tandem, Accelerated Freefall and other recognised training methods. It is useful for understanding the terms, while the actual Indian operator must explain its own programme and eligibility conditions.
Tandem skydiving: a single experience
In tandem skydiving, the participant and instructor are connected by the tandem harness system. The briefing still matters: you need to understand the instructions, communicate clearly and follow the operator’s directions.
A tandem booking can suit someone who wants to experience the activity once before deciding whether to pursue training. It does not usually require previous skydiving experience, but that does not remove the need for eligibility assessment or the required documentation.
When comparing packages, ask whether the quote includes the briefing, equipment, aircraft ride, jump and the particular media product you want. Avoid assuming that every package described as “tandem” has the same inclusions.
AFF: learning to skydive independently
Accelerated Freefall, usually shortened to AFF, is a training route. USPA’s programme introduction explains it within a structured student progression.
An AFF course is not simply a tandem jump with a more expensive name. Ask how the programme is organised, which learning stages it includes, who conducts the instruction and what happens if you need to repeat a stage.
Make a separate budget for training, equipment rental, additional jumps, travel and time. An advertised course length cannot guarantee that every student will progress at the same pace or that weather will allow all scheduled jumps.
If earning a licence is your goal, ask which organisation’s requirements the programme follows and what completing the quoted package actually achieves. Keep the answer in writing before paying.
Static line, IAD and other terms
Static-line and Instructor-Assisted Deployment are other training methods discussed in the USPA student programme. Their availability and requirements depend on the actual school or operation.
For a beginner comparing advertisements, the key task is identifying the product. Ask whether the activity is an aircraft skydive, a supervised training jump, a tandem experience or something else. Parasailing, paragliding and wind-tunnel flying may all involve time in the air, but they are separate experiences with separate operating arrangements.
| Your aim | Product to investigate | Main question |
|---|---|---|
| One introductory experience | Tandem skydive | What is included and am I eligible? |
| Learn independent skydiving | A structured training programme | What progression and repeat costs apply? |
| Continue as an experienced jumper | Licensed-jumper services | Are my qualifications accepted and are sessions available? |
| Buy a gift | A precisely described voucher | Can the recipient qualify, and what happens if they cannot use it? |
Choose the commitment before the destination
It is tempting to start with the most attractive photograph. A better booking conversation starts with what you want to do. A first-time tandem participant and a person seeking training may need different sessions, instructors and time on site.
That distinction also helps with travelling companions. Someone accompanying you can enjoy the wider trip without participating in the jump, provided the operation permits visitors. Ask about that arrangement before bringing family members to the airstrip.
Places for skydiving in India: start with current operator listings
Two locations had identifiable operator websites advertising skydiving products during this research: Narnaul in Haryana and the Manpur Airstrip area near Abu Road in Rajasthan. Use these as documented leads for enquiries, with availability and operational permissions confirmed for the date you want.
This is not a ranking of independently tested operators. The useful distinction is between a current, named offer and a location appearing in a general travel list.
Narnaul, Haryana: a location advertised by Skyhigh India
Skyhigh India’s contact page gives its address at the airstrip in Narnaul, Haryana. Its Narnaul location page markets tandem and training services from that base.
If you are travelling from Delhi NCR, check the actual distance and drive from your starting point. The operator’s broad “two hours from Delhi” description is a marketing orientation, not a guarantee from every neighbourhood or at every time.
Obtain the exact reporting pin, required arrival time and contact for the day. Ask whether your booking is for Narnaul or a separately scheduled event elsewhere. A brand can advertise more than one location without operating the same programme at each on your date.
Plan the return before booking a tightly timed train or flight. If the session is delayed, an inflexible onward connection can turn the day into a difficult decision between leaving early and missing the connection.
Abu Road, Rajasthan: a location advertised by Skydive India
Skydive India’s drop-zone page places its operation at Manpur Airstrip near Abu Road. Its contact page identifies the Rajasthan address. The website also uses “Mount Abu” in its marketing.
For navigation, request the exact airstrip entrance. A general Mount Abu destination pin is not an appropriate substitute for the reporting point. Confirm the transfer from your actual railway station, accommodation or other starting address.
Ask which products are running on your day and whether the advertised package can be booked for you. A visible price page does not establish that the aircraft, instructor and session you need are available at the moment you want to arrive.
If you combine the activity with a Rajasthan or Gujarat trip, give the jump its own time window. Avoid scheduling another major attraction so tightly that a normal operational delay makes the whole itinerary fail.
What about Mysore, Aamby Valley, Pondicherry, Deesa and Dhana?
These names appear in many skydiving articles, including broad lists from Holidify and Tripoto. Their presence in a list is useful as a research lead, but it does not establish a current session you can book.
For any of these destinations, ask for a named operator, exact airstrip, confirmed camp dates, available jump type and payment terms. Obtain those details before buying non-refundable travel around the activity.
The same approach applies to a new destination promoted through an Instagram advertisement. Contact the responsible operation through independently checked official details and establish who is taking the booking and who will conduct the jump.
A location-verification checklist
| Detail | What a useful answer looks like |
|---|---|
| Responsible business | A named operator and official contact |
| Actual location | An airstrip address and reporting entrance |
| Date | A confirmed session or camp date |
| Product | Tandem or a specifically described training service |
| Eligibility | Written conditions applicable to you |
| Payment | A total quote and clear terms |
| Changes | An explanation of weather and operational rescheduling |
If the answer remains only “skydiving available near this city”, continue checking. A complete offer should help you understand where to go, what you are buying and the conditions attached to it.
Skydiving cost in India: dated prices and a complete budget
The operator pages checked for this guide list example tandem packages from ₹29,999 plus GST to ₹41,999 plus GST, depending on operator and camera inclusions. These are sampled advertised offers, not an India-wide tariff or a confirmed quote for your date.
Compare the complete product rather than the first number in the advertisement. Tax, media options, transfers, eligibility-related charges and changed travel arrangements can alter the total.
Operator price examples checked on 5 October 2026
| Operator and advertised location | Listed package | Listed base price |
|---|---|---|
| Skydive India, Abu Road area | Tandem with hand-camera video | ₹29,999 + GST |
| Skydive India, Abu Road area | Tandem with outside cameraman | ₹39,999 + GST |
| Skyhigh India, Narnaul | Tandem with hand camera | ₹31,999 + 18% GST |
| Skyhigh India, Narnaul | Tandem with hand camera and outside camera | ₹41,999 + 18% GST |

Calculate tax using the rate actually quoted
For the Skyhigh hand-camera example, ₹31,999 × 1.18 gives ₹37,758.82, or approximately ₹37,759 including the listed 18% GST. Its ₹41,999 example similarly works out to approximately ₹49,559.
Those calculations use the rate explicitly displayed by that operator. Ask for the applicable tax and final amount for another offer rather than applying a rate to a page that only says “plus GST”.
Also check whether a displayed booking deposit is part of the total price. A low advance payment is not the same as the complete cost of the experience.
A sample full-trip budget
Consider an adult who uses the approximately ₹37,759 tax-inclusive package example and separately assumes ₹4,000 for a return transfer, ₹800 for meals and ₹2,000 as a contingency allowance. The illustrative working budget is ₹44,559.
The transfer, meal and reserve amounts are invented budgeting assumptions, clearly shown so you can replace them. They are not live transport quotes or a prediction of what you will spend. If an overnight stay is needed, add its actual final cost separately.
For two participants, calculate two jump packages and then check which travel expenses are shared. Do not simply double every line, and do not assume the second participant receives an advertised group discount until it appears in a confirmed quote.
Hand camera or outside camera?
Ask what each media package records. Establish whether you receive photographs, video, an edited clip or raw files, how they will be delivered and when. Package names alone do not answer every question.
For someone mainly interested in remembering a first jump, a simple media product may be enough. Someone planning a larger personal video may value a different viewpoint. Choose based on the intended use and the actual deliverables.
Confirm what happens if the booked camera service is unavailable or a recording is incomplete. Read the relevant terms before paying for an upgrade. Keep personal filming equipment out of the plan unless the operator explicitly permits it.
